American crow
Corvus brachyrhynchos · Bird · Common in San Diego County
Default for birds: logged quietly
Sample: changes are not saved
Big, glossy black and endlessly curious, American crows patrol lawns, parks and roadsides in family groups, and they can recognize individual human faces. The older kids often pitch in, too, with grown young from past years helping raise the new brood. On winter nights, crows may pile into shared roosts thousands strong.
