Sciurus griseus · Mammal · Uncommon in San Diego County

Default for wild mammals: logged quietly
Sample: changes are not saved

The West Coast’s own gray squirrel is bigger and more silvery than its eastern cousin, with a white belly and a huge plumed tail. It’s out by day in oak and pine woodlands, gathering acorns and pine nuts, and tends to be shyer than the introduced squirrels in many towns.
